During the days of the ministry of our Savior Jesus, He authorized His disciples whom He had chosen to fulfill the ministry of salvation on earth, to teach, to heal the sick and to cast away all kinds of demons. They did accordingly and returned with joy and said to Him, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name" (Luke 10:17).

At that time, a father brought his son who was possessed by this kind of demon, to be healed by the disciples. However His disciples did not succeed in casting out the of demon though they tried very hard. Finally the man brought his son to Jesus and kneeling down to Him said, "Lord, have mercy on my son, I brought him to your disciples but they could not cure him" (Matt. 17:15-16). Jesus chided His disciples saying, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? Then He rebuked the demon and as the demon came out of him, the boy was cured at once.

Beloved, there is a hidden spiritual truth in the above passage that we ought to know. Jesus the Savior had authorized His disciples to cast out all kinds of demons. Accordingly all the demons left except this kind which they could not cast out. What is the reason? The reason is this kind of demon belongs to a special 'class' or 'caste' which is more notorious than all other demons, full of pride, egoism and haughtiness. This caste demon explicitly manifests itself in various forms throughout the world. Though great reformists rose to eradicate this caste demon, it continues to be arrogant and roaring. Moreover God made human beings of the same blood and made us to inhabit the whole earth. But the devil, who was cast down from the heavens, has created divisions among the people on the basis of caste, race and religion through worldly people, and is steadily destroying mankind of the same blood. In order to drive away and destroy this pride-filled demon which could not be cast out by His disciples, the God of heaven lowered Himself and took a bodily form like us since children are of flesh and blood and appeared in this world known as the Son of Man to unite the entire humanity into one race.

The Lord took a lowly form and humbled Himself to the cross in order to demolish pride of caste, pride of 'class', pride of wealth, pride of position etc. Even during the days of His ministry, with the aim of driving away the evil of racial hatred out of the Jewish community and to rebuke the practice of the Jews of not even accepting water from the Samaritans, He revealed Himself to them by asking for water. Staying there for two days and dining with them, He was called a glutton and a Samaritan by the Jews, all because He had to drive away this 'caste' demon. Do you not want to earn this humiliating title? If you don't, why do you want to be known by the title 'Christian' and why at all do you want to be called a 'believer'?

Any person who does not have the mind of Christ is not a Christian. If Christ were in you, this caste demon would have left you. The reason that this 'caste difference' is within you, is only because Christ is not in you. Many demons were cast out by the disciples. The word 'many demons' means many sins. Many sins had left you. Despite numerous conventions, baptizing so many people, you have not realized that, this caste demon had not left you yet.

You are blowing away a speck of dust from other's eyes without realizing that like a beam in your eyes, this caste demon is powerfully working in you overtly and covertly. How many churches continue to come up! Meetings are held house to house and street to street. There are model conventions and crossless sermons of renowned preachers armed with worldly degrees. Yet this caste demon has enslaved not only the world but also the believers, especially ministers of God. This crowd is nothing but a collection of lifeless bones seen by Ezekiel in the valley and not the assembly of a living church.

God revealed Peter through a vision, to go and make fellowship with Cornelius who was considered of low caste, in order to drive away the communal evil present in Peter. In his vision, Peter saw an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners descending to him and in it were all kinds of animals of the earth, creeping things and birds of the air. And a voice came to him three times saying, 'Rise, Peter; kill and eat". Though Peter declined to eat and replied that he had never eaten anything uncommon or unclean, the voice said for the third time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call common". Afterwards the sheet was taken up.

Beloved! What is the theme of this vision? The sheet bound at four corners stands for the church, the body of the Lord. The Lord added daily to this body of the Lord, those who were saved. In that church, there was no one known as Greek, Roman, Jew or Gentile and as expounded by the Holy Spirit to the church all were one in Christ Jesus. But you are despising the scriptures if you take this world as the model and say that the caste differences are bound to exist! Is not humiliating another person a sin? Is not the teaching 'love your neighbor as yourself', given by the Holy Spirit to the church? You were redeemed by the holy blood of the Lord, baptized and sealed in Him, became members of the church which is His body, ate from the same bread and drank from the same cup by taking part in the Holy Communion and you made a covenant in the presence of God with Jesus Christ, the Mediator of the new covenant Jesus Christ to be a single holy race. But once you come out of the church, by the way you conduct yourself on happy or sad occasions, in matters of giving and receiving, in arranging marriage alliances, you show discrimination on account of caste differences, racial differences, linguistic differences etc. All you ministers and believers who practice such worldly customs, if you don't want to obey the gospel properly, why do you need this glorious ministry? Are there no other work if your intention is only to support your livelihood? Is it right for you to work in a wine shop when you preach against drinking? Aren't all these mockery of faith?

In these days, the world has penetrated into the church of faith, the Holy Spirit is pushed outside and the self designed worshipping services continue to be conducted. The Holy Spirit stands outside and keeps knocking at the door. Unless you realize it and open the door, He will leave you. Even If He leaves you, He will not abandon his determination. And what is that determination? The truth is that, "God will put you to shame through simpletons, the uneducated, the common people and the poor and He will irritate you with foolish people. God will build His church with the stones which you had rejected".

If you behave like those who had slighted the invitation for the banquet making excuses, it is certain that the Lord will request the poor people who are found in the streets and the lanes of the city and in the highways and hedges and make them take part in His banquet. The verse "How did this happen? This happened because of the Lord" will be fulfilled.

Therefore don't treat the simple people who are sanctified by God as untouchables. Therefore, let us drive out the hypocritical caste demon which lurks within the church, in the name of Jesus!

Let us be transfigured as a single holy race. That transfigured holy race is Isaac, born as a holy generation to Abraham, the father of believers. All others are generations of Ishmael, born to the bond woman. Such people are in bondage along with their mother. That bondage is slavery to the world, slavery to money, slavery to caste, and slavery to position. She gives birth to children being a slave to worldly customs. These are the generation of the bond woman which conduct services under the title of 'believers' and this is the mixed race.

If you possess caste demon, you are not a true Christian. Don't boast against the truth. All that are haughty will be laid low (Isa. 13:11).

EDITORIAL

Man should find God. He should come to Jesus. Jesus calls him. He will not have true peace and happiness until he comes to God ; What little good life that he has at present also will pass off from him. Man should leave ungodly life, a life of his own liking. He should come to God. He should live in fellowship with God. He should do the will of God. That is the life made out for man. That alone will bring him real peace and form a solution for all his problems.

God is the life-force of man. Abandoning this life-force is the root cause of all his mental disturbances, confusions and hopelessness. You should look for God. Search and diligently inquire of Him (Zep. 1:6). If you search for Him with your whole heart, you will find Him (Jer. 29:13-14).

You will find peace.
